We offer a distinguished and unique facility of Learning Resource Centre (LRC). Main objective of this facility is to inculcate the habit of self learning and research in students. LRC provides Audio Visual facilities, Internet, CDs, Videocassettes and data projection system. LRC is also equipped with microscopes, Medical Histology and Histopathology slides. A good stock provides access to anatomical models to explore knowledge. For postgraduate students this facility is available in the campus as well as in the hostels. |

We provide inter-library loan facility to students and researchers. The library has an arrangement with local and international document supply centres to obtain articles that are not available locally. We are a part of a network of 250 major libraries of twenty one Muslim countries of the East Mediterranean Region. |

The University provides computing and internet services to all the students. The computer labs are equipped with latest computing systems. The service is fully networked. The PCs run under Windows latest versions and have access to central file storage, mail and print server. A structured programme of using computer in the medical field “Computer Assisted Learning
Programme” has been introduced. On-hands training for two hours every week is provided to all the students to improve their computing skills. The University has 512k Duplex Internet facility as well as its own Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) connection. The University campuses are linked with WAN as well as LAN in each of the campuses. Wi-Fi is also available at some areas. |

Hostel accommodation is available for 300 students from outside Rawalpindi/Islamabad. There are separate hostels for males and females. The students needing hostel accommodation apply for it at the time of admission on prescribed form. During their stay in hostels, students have to adhere to the rules and regulations laid down by the University authorities. Hostel rules booklet is provided to every student at the time of joining the hostel. |

University provides inter-campus transport to hostel students from hostels to the campus and back and transport facility to boarders for weekly bazaar trips. Emergency transport is available 24 hours in the University and hostel as well. Private transport is arranged for day scholars. |

The students often participate in different talk shows and discussion forums on Pakistan Television (PTV). These help them develop their presentation skills by letting them communicate their view points on different educational, academic, professional and social issues. |

Apart from TV talk shows, students are encouraged to participate in in-house discussion forums on many topics of social and academic significance. These forums are primarily designed to help them translate and demonstrate their thoughts by putting the best of their communicative abilities to use. |

The students are facilitated to have Study and Recreational Trips and tours to various industrial units and development projects as well as historical and scenic venues and resorts. RIU lays great emphasis in building both the mind and body of our students by providing ample facilities to the students for participation in games and sports. Sports week is arranged once a year. It includes indoor as well as outdoor activities. The indoor activities include Qirat, Naat, Debates and Table Tennis whereas the outdoor games include Cricket, Football, Hockey, Basketball and Hiking etc. A series of interfaculty and inter-hostel tournaments are held to provide participation to the maximum number of students. Outstanding sportsmen are encouraged to take part in the inter-university tournaments and national level competitions.Some of the students have performed excellently in various competitions by achieving top positions. |

RIU has a well established and active counselling-cum-tutorial system, where the teaching staff and the students work in close co-ordination with each other. This mechanism has been very successful in character building and personality development of the students, so as to enable them to enter practical life with confidence and competence. Students are divided into groups which are allocated to each faculty member. Counselling is conducted personally by all teaching staff and problems faced by students are collectively solved in an air of mutual trust and understanding. |

Students shall conform to the Rules and Regulations of RIU. Breach of rules, misconduct, idleness, lack of reasonable progress in studies etc. will render a student liable to disciplinary action ranging from fine to rustication from the University. |

Students are expected to attend the lectures and lab experiments regularly in each course. A student with less than 75 % attendance in class lectures and laboratory work in a course, for whatever reason, shall not be allowed to take End Semester/Annual Examination and will have to repeat the course. |

All the students who have graduated from the University, automatically become part of the University Alumni Network. Alumni are invited to attend various functions (Convocations, Seminars and Sports Weeks etc.) as guests of the University. |

Wearing of uniform is mandatory for all students as described for each faculty. The head scarf is mandatory for female students and it should be long enough to cover their head, hair, neck and figure properly Female students should be in full sleeve kameez without slits in sleeves Any other colour than the prescribed for kameez, shalwar, dopatta, scarf, shirts, trousers, tie, footwear socks etc is not allowed. Baggy pants, Jeans, jackets and joggers are not allowed. |
